The book is divided into four major sections. Part I reviews rheology and its measurements from a practical standpoint. This is information the researcher needs to compare modifier performance in the intended application. Part II presents details on the products available from the 26 represented companies. The over 1000 commercial products are arranged alphabetically by chemical type, supplier's name, and by trade name. Part III focuses on the selection of suitable rheology modifier candidates. It summarizes the application of each modifier type, and covers regulatory issues when choosing a product for use in food or pharmaceutical applications. Part IV is a formulary containing the contributions of the product suppliers. These 227 starting formulations are designed to show which rheology modifiers are recommended for various applications and how they are incorporated into a formulation.
